IT Project Manager

We are hiring a seasoned IT Project Manager for a leading banking client in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate must have proven experience in the UAE banking sector, with a strong track record in vendor management, RFP drafting/review, and driving digital transformation initiatives across Open Banking, Open Finance, and core banking systems.

This is a hands-on delivery role requiring full ownership of project execution with minimal involvement from senior management. The candidate must be able to independently manage stakeholders, timelines, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end IT projects focused on digital transformation, open banking frameworks, and API-driven ecosystems.
• Oversee vendor selection, contract management, and daily coordination to ensure project milestones are delivered on time.
• Lead the preparation, review, and issuance of RFPs, RFIs, and related procurement documents.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders (IT, Business, Security, Compliance) to define scope, requirements, and success criteria.
• Ensure compliance with CBUAE regulations, data security protocols, and banking technology standards.
• Prepare and maintain all project documentation including SOWs, BRDs, test cases, and sign-offs.
• Track project progress using suitable tools (JIRA, MS Project, etc.) and provide timely reports to relevant teams.
• Ensure governance, manage risks proactively, and resolve conflicts without escalation unless absolutely necessary.
• Deliver results under minimal supervision with full accountability.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 8+ years of IT project management experience, with at least 3-5 years in UAE banking sector.
• Strong exposure to digital banking initiatives, Open Finance, and Open Banking frameworks.
• Hands-on experience in RFP drafting, technical evaluations, and vendor negotiation.
• Excellent knowledge of core banking systems, digital channels, and integration patterns.
• PMP / Prince2 / Agile certifications are preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and independent execution capability.
