The QA Lead is a critical function within the QA team. Reporting directly to a QA Manager/QA Director, you’ll collaborate closely with the external deployment project manager, producer, product manager, external dev teams, QA teams and the Engineering teams to ensure best in class test coverage for the game teams’ projects.You’re a master of communication, bug finding wizard, and test case management specialist - able to both lead coordinate a legion of testers with delegated tasks as well as roll up your sleeves to take on the solo mission of assisting our cross-functional teams as an autonomous, expert QA specialist.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage a team of Internal testers/Dev testers split between multiple shifts
- Coordinate testing efforts with the QA partners in the game teams
- Manage resource needs based on the scope of upcoming releases
- Respond to one-off testing queries, acting as a liaison and communicator for the game QA testing teams for these specific requests
- Assist in maintaining test and development environments by managing environment specific configurations and settings
- Work closely with the game engineering team for ad hoc testing requests, demonstrating advanced techniques for testing and regression of product
- Generate status reports for the game QA team and the game team leaders, communicating status of testing and escalating risks and blockers to key stakeholders on behalf of the QA team
- Assist in the generation and maintenance of functional test suites
- Manage daily bug triages with confidence in prioritizing bugs and surfacing critical issues logged by QA
- Instill QA best testing practices across both internal and external teams, increasing quality level of issue reporting through advanced reporting techniques including crash logs, server logs, video, and screen capture
- Leverage Dashboards to monitor issue status’ throughout the testing lifecycle
- Coach your team members to develop and grow the most talented testers in the org
- Contribute to the development and the delivery of the training curriculum
